I first met Amy and Sean at a recent local wedding fair. The couple were in the very early stages of wedding planning, and at the time, were mostly attending fairs in order to check out local venues. However, as they placed great importance on securing photography, they stopped by for a chat.
After discussing their wedding plans and my style of photography, as well as looking through various photos on display, they decided that an engagement session would afford them the opportunity to get a true representation of my style.
Engagement sessions are the perfect way to mark a special time in a couple’s lives together. With all the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, slowing down for a moment and reflecting on the journey ahead is wonderful. The shoot also affords both myself and a couple to see if our personalities mesh, while discovering how it feels to be in front of the camera. That way, by the time the wedding rolls around, they’ll already have been professionally photographed together, taking some of the anticipation away, which means they are more likely to be relaxed on camera on their wedding day. This of course, comes across beautifully in photos.
So with this in mind, we opted for an engagement session at Hylands Park. While this is a favourite spot of mine, I hadn’t seen it looking quite so beautiful. An abundance of colour was evident, thanks to the spell of good weather, which definitely served as the perfect backdrop for their photos.
We moved around the pack, taking advantage of its various locations so that they were afforded a wealth of photos. I love the pops of pink in these photos.
Amy and Sean are due to secure their wedding venue in the next couple of months, after which, I’m sure everything will fall in to place for them.
I’m really looking forward to being part of their day and seeing their plans unfold – Good luck guys!
