Barbara and Ade’s Hylands House wedding day was far from ordinary, and I loved every minute of it! The happy couple were married on a drizzly Saturday in November, which thankfully did very little to dampen spirits!
The day kicked off with bridal preparations at Pontlands Hotel in Chelmsford, while the groomsmen got ready for the day ahead at St Michael and All Angels Church in Chelmsford.
From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was electric, which only continued to grow throughout the day.
Barbara’s mum walked her down the aisle, while guests complimented her exceptional choice of fit and flare wedding gown.
Following the beautiful ceremony, I captured a few formal photos before heading off to Hylands House. As the weather was damp and cold, I wanted to ensure we had plenty of options incase we were prevented from getting good use of the garden’s beautiful grounds.
Thankfully, the weather was on our side when we arrived at Hylands House. We used the opportunity to take plenty of photos of the bridal party. After this, I stole Barbara and Ade away for some some shots on their own.
A favourite spot of mine, the garden’s striking autumnal colours were the perfect contrast to the happy couple’s wedding attire, ensuring they stood out beautifully.
Following photos, the wedding breakfast took place in the Pavillion alongside Hylands House. The room was decorated to perfection. White, cream and gold tones offered a touch of luxe and elegance.
And from there on in, the day continued with oodles of fun. The wedding party kicked off the evening with an unforgettable entrance, before taking to the dance floor.
Not to be outdone, Barbara & Ade’s dancing entrance had everyone on their feet, before they took to their seats for the speeches by the maid of honour and best man.
Before the meal was served, the evening began with a game of ‘Mr & Mrs’. Instead of raising paddles for their answers, the bride and groom raised their shoes! The game went down a storm with guests.
Next up, it was the cutting of the cake ceremony and feeding of the bride and groom before the first dances took place.
Following this, a quick outfit change occurred before everyone took to the dance floor for the rest of the night.
Congratulations Barbara and Ade! I thoroughly enjoyed your wedding day, which was filled with fun, laughter and love from start to finish. Wishing you many years of happiness together.
