With the first signs of autumn making an appearance, I met Barbara and Ade on a crisp afternoon at Hylands House, to mark their engagement with an engagement session.
I first met the couple last month at a wedding fair at Hylands House. As they are getting married here too, it was very fitting that we decided on this location for their engagement session.
With the weather on our side, I was excited about the shoot and what Barbara and Ade had to bring to the camera.
Upon their arrival, I could tell Barbara was really excited, while Ade was a little nervous. To break the ice, we chatted about their wedding, which definitely helped relax the couple. Barbara even teased Ade about needing to work on his smile. With the wedding a year away, and a pre-wedding session to come, he’ll be a pro in front of the camera by then.
This is why I think engagement sessions are a wonderful idea! They really help to put a couple at ease. When it comes to the big day, they are super natural in front of the camera, and have plenty of poses up their sleeves! I Know Barbara and Ade will definitely keep me on my toes.
With such gorgeous grounds at Hylands House, we definitely made great use of them for the engagement session. The colours at this time of year are just beautiful and I’m a sucker for natural lighting, which worked perfectly in photos.
I’m really excited about Barbara and Ade’s big day next year. I know it will be bursting full of colour! With an outfit change from the traditional white dress and suit to customary Afro-Caribbean wedding attire, with celebrations to match, I know their wedding photos will be amazing!
