There’s something distinctly romantic about a smaller wedding and Jo & Matt’s day was just that. The couple said their vows in front of an intimate gathering of 60 guests on Wednesday 1st June 2016 at Frasers, Egerton in Kent.
I thoroughly enjoyed capturing the bridal preparations, using the opportunity to take plenty of detail shots. The couple put a great deal of consideration into every element so I wanted to make sure not to miss a thing.
Before the wedding, Jo received a beautiful bracelet – a gift from Matt.
Their preparations took place at Frasers with Jo and her leading ladies getting ready in the beautiful Blenheim Suite, while the groom and groomsmen took to the very stylish Lambourne Room in the converted barns.
Matt finished off his suit with his Grandad’s watch paired with unusual watch cufflinks, while the men were given beautifully presented hip flask gifts.
Although a wet and windy day, breaks in the weather afforded us the opportunity for some photos of the groom and groomsmen before the downpours rudely interrupted us.
I’m a big fan of something a little bit different and Jo’s choice of bridesmaid dresses certainly wowed! Their bold floral print also doubled as her something blue, and paired with delicate posies of vintage style flowers, they definitely stood out for all the right reasons.
The ceremony took place inside Frasers and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the couple set eyes on each other for the first time!
Due to the weather, group photos were done undercover, but thankfully the venue offered a wealth of beautiful backdrops.
Jo’s dress boasted a true vibe of elegance, while its scoop back detailing offered an unexpected twist.
In keeping with the theme, afternoon tea was served instead of the traditional wedding breakfast in the marquee, followed by heartfelt speeches from the bride’s dad, groom, best man and bride.
The quirky touches didn’t finish there! The couple choose a unique tiered cheese cake with grapes to complement their day.
It was definitely a fun-filled day with lots of laughter and funny moments from start to finish. Just check out the boys performing their own version of YMCA!
A wonderful occasion with a fabulous couple. It was a pleasure spending the day with these two and their families and friends. I’m sure they will have a fantastic life together as Mr & Mrs Gibson!
