I kicked off April with Katie & Stuart’s engagement session at one of my favourite locations, Hylands House Park & Gardens.
I met the couple back in February at a local wedding fair. We hit it off straight away! My style of photography reflected their wedding day vision and so the next step naturally seemed to book an engagement session. We chose Hylands House and Gardens for its multitude of beautiful backdrops, which work perfectly in photos.
We had a previous date set for the shoot but alas with the Beast from the East’s arrival, we had to postpone. The rescheduled day was thankfully a little warmer and a whole lot drier. There was however, still a little moisture in the air after a couple of days of heavy rain. However, this did little to impact the outcome of the photos.
Thankfully, we were still able to move around the park, taking advantage of its many amazing backdrops.
I love this shot of the happy couple, and the black and white element adds a touch of romance.
With signs of spring finally beginning to show, the garden offered just a little colour, which perfectly popped in the photos.
Admittedly, Katie and Stuart aren’t fans of having their photograph taken and were therefore both a little nervous. But as we got into the swing of things, they quickly settled into it. They looked like naturals in front of the camera.
They now have plenty of practice and poses up their sleeve ahead of the big day.
Following the Hylands House engagement session, I received a lovely review from Katie and Stuart. The couple had this to say: “We had a engagement shoot with Marc and the photos are lovely, such a nice man and easily calms nerves if you are scared of the camera, Thank you!”
