With Lorna and Neil’s Manor of Groves wedding fast approaching, admittedly, I was a little worried about the weather. Getting married in the midst of a heatwave can be uncomfortable, but while it was hot on the day, it was thankfully a welcome few degrees cooler, at around 29°.
I began the day by meeting with Lorna and her bridal party at the Manor of Groves Hotel, where they made good use of the beautiful bridal suite for their preparations ahead of the church wedding. I was pleased to see that everyone was in great spirits, with nerves replaced by excitement for what was yet to come.
I set myself to work by photographing all the amazing details that Lorna had spent a great deal of time lovingly pulling together.
After she donned an elegant A-line dress with embellished detailing, her dad arrived to escort her to the church. Photographs were taken to ensure no moment of the day was missed. This included those all important group shots of Lorna with her dad and mum, before heading off to the church to meet Neil and his brother and nephew – groomsmen for the day.
I was thrilled to see that Neil had also invited some of his Air Cadet squadron to attend their wedding in their uniforms, which definitely made for a great addition to their array of photos.
Upon Lorna’s arrival, a few more photos were taken before the ceremony began.
Afterwards, we headed outside, where confetti was thrown, which always adds a fun touch to photos. Next, we headed to the Manor of Groves Hotel for their wedding breakfast and more photos.
Their gorgeous vintage wedding car really had the wow impact.
I love this shot, with the trees overhead casting beautiful shadows.
The day continued with lots of amazing finishing touches, proving that the couple really injected their personality into their wedding.
After the cutting of the cake and the first dance, I stole the happy couple away for a few moments to make use of the sun setting for some creative photos.
Congratulations Lorna and Neil. Thank-you for inviting me to be a part of your special day.
