This week marked the arrival of spring, meaning it is officially wedding season and with that comes a whole host of new trends! Can’t wait to find out what this season has in store for the wonderful world of weddings? No problem! We’ve rounded up spring’s hottest wedding trends, which are demanding attention.
Pretty pastels
Spring’s colour palette is proving a pretty choice of sugar coated candy hues. From parma violet to lemon sherbet, blush pink and peppermint, we’re loving the transition from winter’s dramatic hues to spring’s colour palette of softer, more muted tones. And the great news is that it’s so easy to incorporate these tones, with bridesmaid dresses choosing a popular choice to channel this trend.
Sheer dress detailing
When it comes to wedding dresses, brides are opting for lavish gowns with sheer detailing for the perfect finishing touch. With just enough coverage to remain demure, give your dress a touch of romance with a floaty, Grecian silhouette, which screams A Midsummer Night’s Dream!
Tall tiers
Oh terrific tiers of delicious cake goodness! Cakes have reached new heights and it’s a matter of how high can you go. Go tall to ensure your cake is the focal point of your reception but keep in mind that you don’t need to go overboard in style. In fact, tall tiers call for elegant, simple designs with the naked cake being a popular choice for spring. And the same applies to the topper with minimalist flowers proving popular.
Elegant lighting
Lighting is moving from colours towards simplistic, beautiful choices and we couldn’t be happier! Softer, muted hues offer a romantic touch, which is beautifully mimicked in wedding photos.
Big beautiful blooms
Well it is spring after all! Play homage to the season of the blooms and show off the power of flowers. From garlands of ivy adorning tables, to flower crowns worn in their hair, brides are choosing to go bold or go home when it comes to flowers this spring, and we love it!
Sleek, simple hairstyles
Brides and their pretty maids are looking to the red carpet for inspiration when it comes to choosing a do for their day. Last year’s boho waves and messy buns have been replaced by a chic and more refined approach with brides choosing simple up-dos such as the classic ponytail for their day.
Rustic charm
This season couples are choosing to celebrate the great outdoors, but with a twist! Rustic dining has been given an elegant makeover to take it to the next level, thanks to a luxe overhaul. Don’t worry if weather doesn’t permit an outdoor wedding. Take nature inside and add finishing touches such as chandeliers and wooden benches for a refreshing take on the trend.
Hair accessories
Brides are choosing to emulate Sofia Vergara’s wedding day look, opting for hair jewellery over the traditional wedding veil, modernising their look in the process. Ditching the veil gives you the option to go more extravagant with your hair accessories choice.
Classic cocktails
Signature cocktails move over…couples are going classic in their choice of cocktails. Expect to see cosmos, brambles and martinis this spring. We’re drooling!
90s playlists
Move over Madonna…80s jams are out and 90s tunes are in! Due to age demographics and the surge in millennials who are getting married, 90s are the new throwback.
