Mandy and Nick were married during an intimate ceremony at The Fennes, Essex, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The day was filled with unique finishing touches, and pops of colour, perfect inspiration for any couples craving a unique twist for their day. A year later, I caught up with the happy couple who share the inspiration behind their The Fennes wedding day.
Tell us how you met
We actually met online in 2005. After talking to each other a few times online, we both decided we wanted to meet up to see how things progressed from there.
And what about that proposal?
There wasn’t really a formal proposal. We both sat down and discussed one evening that it was time we tied the knot!
When and where did you get married?
Our beautiful Fennes wedding took place on the 16th August, 2016. It was an intimate ceremony, surrounded by our nearest and dearest.
Did you have theme for your wedding day?
Our theme was a vintage style wedding. When it came to colours we choose ivory with pops of teal and coral, to add a touch of brightness to our day.
Tell us how you chose your wedding dress?
I chose my wedding dress at Serenity Brides in Colchester. It was ideal to what I had in mind as being in a wheelchair I did not want anything that was too bulky or puffed out!
I chose a slim fitted fishtail style with a sweetheart neckline and lace shoulder straps. It was ivory colour and had beautiful lace trimmings with a shimmering sparkle effect to it. It was the perfect dress for me.
Who did you have as your bridesmaids?
My nieces, sisters Georgina and Alexia were my bridesmaids. Their dresses were long chiffon and teal in colour with sweetheart necklines with straps. They looked beautiful.
What did you love the most about wedding planning?
The wedding planning was a joint effort and we both enjoyed sharing ideas and planning everything together.
What 3 top tips would you offer other brides?
1. I definitely think it’s important to plan ahead. This will reduce stress in the lead up to the wedding.
2. It’s also important to talk to each other about how you want your special day to be.
3. Finally, and most important of all, try to relax and enjoy every moment of both planning and the day itself.
How did you decide on Marc as your wedding photographer?
We met Marc at a wedding fare and straight away after talking to him, he made us feel at ease. We both also liked the idea of pre-wedding photos with Marc so that we could all get to know each other better. Fortunately Marc includes this in with his All-Day packages which is perfect and definitely made us all very comfortable on our wedding day.
